I recently returned from Europe on a very early flight where manually presenting VAT forms at the airport wouldn't have been possible. The user experience is a bit clunky with the various image uploads, but overall provides me as a busy traveler with greatly needed flexibility once I'm back home. My hope is that more merchants adopt digital tools like VAT.

Very time-consuming to set up an account. subsequent purchases should go better, but this system is far less user-friendly than the old system. On this same trip, our other purchases went through global blue, we showed our items, ID, and receipts at the airport, and had the money in our account 2 days later. just saying.

Thank you for the feedback! We are constantly looking to try to streamline the process and will try to make it more user-friendly and straightforward. We are keen on digitizing the whole process to eliminate paper and queues, as well as guaranteeing a higher refund rate! We look forward to serving you the next time you're abroad!

Extra steps for no reason. I avoid shops that require this process like the plague. go for shops that already deduct the taxes. first time using this the lines to get the tax refund at the counter took forever. Staff at thecounters are all rude and take forever to check your stuff and it requires so much information and you need a bank account tie it to.

Hey thanks for writing a review. I just want to share some information here -- The tax deduction VAT Refund process is getting removed as apart of a VAT Refund regulation change in Japan next year, so all providers will be in the form of a "refund".
Also, tourists can withdraw their VAT Refund using credit card and a number of other secure methods
